what makes this game so good....

one of the things i noticed that mlb 2k11 has over mlb the show (i now have both) is that star players play like star players and its noticeable. the gap between great players, good players and avarage players is much more relevant in mlb 2k11 then it is in the show. this is something i have to give 2k a lot of credit for because it truly makes a difference.

i have ryan howard on my team (baltimore o's via trade) and the guy is a complete monster. pitchers walk him constantly, he hits game winning homers and of course leads the team in most stats. oh yea, i sim half and play the other half so im getting a good balance.

You touched on a really good point. The feel of the game and the disparity between all-star and average talent makes the game feel very real. Every time I play a game against Pujols, the fear that he strikes in a pitcher is very realistic. You're trying to pitch around him, trying to make him chase pitches out of the zone, but if you leave one hanging he's going to take you deep.

what makes this game so good? the fun factor!!

i havent had this much fun playing a baseball game in years.

It's stupid, isn't it? Why is it fun? Game has kind of a High Heat feel to it, which is pretty much the last baseball game that was this much "fun" to play (for me anyway).

i cant pin point as to why im having so much fun, just overall from playing online (in our league) and quick games with buddies.. then the offline, with some adjusted sliders, just plays a solid game of baseball.

maybe thats why.. bc it plays a solid game of baseball for once. not seeing 14 hr's a game etc.

True. And a seemingly fair game of baseball as well. Games where the CPU AI programming appears scripted or 'roided out are no fun for me, at all.

I am playing right now as the Diamondbacks, and I like how the computer will try to pick corners and stay away from Russell Branyan.
