Computer refusing to pull the starter...

Well, I really don't know what to say to this one. I just had Colby Lewis throw a 145 pitch complete game against me, only giving up one run. He was completely out of stamina to start the 8th. He proceeded to groove meatballs to me, and despite 4 meatballs in a row, I couldn't manage a hit. Then he walked one guy, gave up a hit, and they still left him in. Got another meatball that I grounded into for a soft double play.

I know i'll get a series of "you need to hit better" responses, but I know how to hit. I just lit them up for 8 runs the previous game. He actually pitched great through 7, and I would have been more than happy to take my whooping, had they pulled him as they should at around 100 pitches. This seemingly was a direct result of his confidence being high, meaning I wasn't going to do anything with his mistake pitches.

I'm all for having a pitcher dominate me, but this was an absolute ****. I hope I don't run into this again. Having this happen, especially in the opening series of the year, is quite troubling to say the least.

I have yet to see that. However, somtimes the CPU pitcher is just in a groove.

Although there may be a certain reason the cpu "decided" to stick with him...I'd say it's another example of why we should be allowed to control cpu lineups...

I'm confused as to what the issue is here. A pitcher was pitching great... in a groove, and the manager let him stay out there. What exactly is the outrage concerning? The fact that you didn't get hits on "meatballs"? (Those aren't automatic hits... much like in real life). The fact that they left him out there while he was pitching well? (Isn't that what managers do... maybe 145 is a little high, but not insane if he's dominating).

So what's the issue?... I'm not mocking... I'm genuinely confused.

The question should be whether the pitcher was completely depleted of energy. I've had that when I was pitching in RTTS. Pitching a shutout, but by the 8th inning, I'm completely gassed, no mention of the bullpen getting up or anything. And I'm just waiting for the rally to come because it's tough to spot the ball when ur so tired.

Some pitchers are straight horses, like Sabathia or just made of rubber like Wakefield or Dice-K. Heck, Dice-K threw the equivalent 3 games in 2 nights back in Japan.

Re: Computer refusing to pull the starter...

yeah its not unheard of, managers will leave a pitcher in if he is rolling. Look at the Edwin Jackson no hitter, dude threw like 150+ pitches. If you cant hit the guy why would the manager care what the "stamina bar" looks like? there isnt a stamina bar in real life. So the fact the game played like real life, is a good thing
