Homeruns with Contact Swing

Is anyone else consistently hitting homeruns with contact swing? It shouldn't even be possible to hit a homerun with this type of swing. I thought that contact swing would only be for putting the ball in play to move over a runner and to maybe get a seeing eye single once and a while. If I can still hit homeruns and doubles, why would I need to use normal or power swings? I get a bigger contact radius and my power production doesn't seem to get penalized for it.

Re: Homeruns with Contact Swing

Ive played about 20 games or so and havent hit one homerun with a contact swing. most are singles, and i believe ive hit a couple doubles down the line. I use the contact swing quite often when i have 2 strikes on me.

What settings do you use? I am playing on All Star with normal slider settings.

I've hit around 3 or 4 in 15 games. And 2 of them were over 425 ft.

Re: Homeruns with Contact Swing

I've hit a single one with a contact swing, and it was in the demo - none in the final game. And even that one was just enough to clear the wall right down the left field line.

I don't think it's that powerful - I use it a lot of the time in CotW and I'm lucky if most balls even reach the wall after bouncing.

Im currently using Thnkman/Psychobulks sliders but on HOF hitting. Contact swing is just about getting the bat on the ball and hopfully hitting it through the infield or just over the infield.

Re: Homeruns with Contact Swing

I only use contact swing with 2 strikes and I guessed wrongly or if the ball is low and/or outside. I noticed that using the other two types even with perfect timing I was getting Weak contact.

I also use it to move a runner to 3rd from 2nd with only 0-1 outs or I use it with a poor hitter that has mostly cold zones.

Re: Homeruns with Contact Swing

I too use the contact swing in pitchers counts and to fight off low and outside or low and inside pitches.

I have hit 2 HR's using it in 24 games thus far. So it is not something that happens often.

I notice if you it a ball in one of your hot zones (and being a hot player too) with perfect timing, it can get out with a contact swing.

I love this new swing option as the battles are even better with it, and you can check swing much better as well in pitchers counts.

I haven't seen too much power with the contact swing. I have hit two with votto on 2 strike counts, but none with anyone else. More often than not the swing produces weak grounders even with good contact. I think the pitches i did hit out w/ contact swing were hanging curveballs, so I am ok with that.
