Hoping I can get something answered here.

Is it possible to influence home runs in the Show 11? What I mean is this...........

If I have Joey Votto at the plate, can I press a button or something on the analog to allow him to try and hit a deep fly ball since there is a guy on third and one out? I want to be able to better control trying to also hit the ball to the right side of the field to score the runner. Is this all determined just by timing?

Thanks for any input you can supply to me on this.

PS- Last year couldnt you press up on the right analog stick to make them try and hit fly balls? Was this removed?

PSS- Yes, I am comfortable with the contact, normal, and power swing options......just didnt know if there was that extra thing I could do. Thanks!!

It's still the Right stick, but if you're using analog controls, you have to hold R2 and then flick the RS (until the control rumbles) the direction you wanna influence the ball

I was wondering about this too...

If you go to Options/Tutorials/GameControls/Batting(All Modes)Advanced
it shows holding down R2 and using the LeftStick will influence the ball as well as being used for GuessPitch.

This is confusing. Also in my experience while holding down R2 and moving the RightStick to influence the hit, it seemed there was only that "vibration to confirm your choice" in two areas of the zone instead of four like last year. Last year it seemed up, down, left, and right all had the confirmation vibration when you wanted to influenced the ball to be hit to first, fly ball, third or ground ball.

please advise

I feel like I see this question asked in almost every hitting thread...

With analog hitting, you can only influence flyballs and groundballs. To influence a flyball, hit R2 and flick the RIGHT STICK up. To influence a groundball, hit R2 and flick the RIGHT STICK down. To use the guess pitch, hit R2 and flick the LEFT STICK in any direction you'd like to guess.

That definitely seems to be the scenario when playing.....but I wonder why its explained that holding R2 and using the LeftStick is for influence instead of the rightstick. It says you can influence in 4 directions with the LeftStick but in actual play you can only influence 2 directions with the RightStick.

Found the info at Options/Tutorials/GameControls/Batting(All Modes)Advanced

Interesting, I have yet to influence other than a grounder or popup but for bunts I always influenced it by moving the stick to the right or left (very important with a bunt!) I mean to advance a runner from second to third I want to but it to the direction of third base! So if it is like you'se saying that you can you can only influence it up or down it's really a shame!
