OWC is perfect example how Micro-transactions is ruining gaming!

I have about had it with online. I fought 3 or 4 fights last night and had enough of this crap mode OWC. EA designed this mode where you either spend MORE money to buy a XP pack so you can compete at the very least or you are stuck getting KOed over and over and over.

A 1 to 2 point overall difference in fighters is HUGE. I fought several 80, 81, 83, rated opponents ALL with one single punch maxed out to 20. Then they throw that one single punch over and over.

You might say, well you can just run and out point them.......sure to a degree......but he will catch you a couple times and that is all it takes. I held one guy to a 20% connect rate through 6 rounds and he only landed 30 something punches, then boom he connects and of course 1 Punch flash KO. My third of the night, all by the same routine. Hell I held one guy to FIVE, let me restate that FIVE punches landed and he 1 Punch KOed me.

This is a HUGE issue, because it took me around 10 mins to find a match even with a guy with a rating that low. I came across several upper 80s guys. If your lowly 78 or 79 rated guy can't compete against this cheese from a 81 overall fighter, how in world would you make it out of 1st rd versus 88 overall guy?!?!?!

I am completely baffled by this design! I want to be clear that at community day we were NEVER told of these XP packs aka Micro-transactions. This has ruined online play for me, I am not going to spend more money on a damn XP pack just so I don't get KOed in first round. This is going to limit me to only to offline, I am completely disgusted by this. I don't even feel like going home and attempt to play this.

You got two options, 1) Either you spend days/weeks offline or sparring leveling up your fighter to finally be able to compete in OWC. 2) You spend even more money on XP pack to be able to compete.

What more needs to be said , perfect example of how these Micro-transactions are hurting the gaming industry and consumers such as myself. Because now it affects my hobby!

for that very reason I have two guys one i'll use in my gym and other for owc I have xp for reserving through gamestop, but even still i wont max out at one punch my dude will be a very good overall boxer .

so, why not just fight in an OS League of sorts? just using the gym you created..

make a rule about the stats etc, not aloud to have a punch higher than say 15..

Yea Fiddy that is a option but what if no one is online? I am then going to sign online and spend 10 to 15 min trying to find someone close to my ratings. Even then EVERY single fight I had online last night was against guys very close to my ratings but every fight ended in a 1 punch KO.

So this is deceiving, because their fighters suck in every rating but one single punch is maxed out at 20. So you never know if you are facing a fair fighter until you get in the ring, then start of round 1 they throw one single punch over and over and over all damn fight.

I held a guy is FIVE landed punches but lose to a 1 punch KO. You can't prevent getting hit at all, you will get caught here and there. But because our chin ratings are so low the 1 punch KOs are crazy.

This is not boxing, it is a exploit being taking advantage of on 78 rated fighters. Plus to make matters worse, if your record sucks because of this and you want to start over. Well you create your new guy, with a fresh reset record but you have to level everything back up again starting back at your lowly 78.

While guys who purchase these XP packs if they want to start over all they do is erase fighter. Create new fighter in same weight class and RE-APPLY XP points and boom they are near maxed out again with fresh record.

So say you buy the game 3 or 4 months from now and you come into OWC with your 78 overall guy and everyone else has been playing for months now have guys maxed out. How are you going to compete?? That is a mode you are not able to use OR spend more money on XP packs so you can use the mode.

I understand there is other options such as Legacy and Gyms. But this is a PERFECT example of how these Micro-transactions are now effecting our modes of play and the "fun factor". Because right now, OWC is garbage for guys with low ranking guys.

I agree that it is ruining the experience. On one hand I feel like they listened and went about a way to fix the OWC, but adding the micro-transactions is two steps back. Their reasoning is that in a couple weeks players will have accumulated points and it will level out. I disagree, but this is hardly the developers fault. The corporation put this on them.

All that said, I'm trying my best to carefully build my guy so that he can compete with these chumps. My first step was giving my guy a solid jab/straight set up. This lets me move around and get my punches in. Second, I do my best to get my chin up to where I can take a punch. This helps tremendously. All it takes is a counter from these guys and they will stun you. Third, I make sure one of my hooks is up to where I have stun power. That has gotten me good results, but yes, it is very easy to get knocked out by them. There are several times I lose I fight I'm dominating because I got caught with a super CAB's right.

Yea Dave I kind of have been doing the same thing, minus working on the Jab, straight which I should of. Instead Chin is taking all my points so far and it is not helping much.

My guy is something like this right now, just going off memory. Something close to this. I know for a fact my Right hook and Right uppercut are both right around the stun state at 6. Then my chin is highest of all my ratings. Everything else is in the 1-3 range.

I wish I could see my guys stats online so I could post them.

My big issue with this is the fact that we have this issue over one single reason.......MONEY! Not only are people spending 60 for the game but some are spending another 50+ on XP packs. Sure it is smart for EA and they making tons of extra money, but this CAN NOT become common practice. This is the type of implementation that will ruin online game down the road if things such as this continue.

There should be an indicator of sorts letting us know we're facing a "juiced" fighter. Like a little needle next to his name or something. After all this is a "M" rated game so it isn't like the needle is going to cause any controversy. Quite frankly these boxers ARE on steriods in all sense of the word. A payment for an "artificial supplement".


EDIT: I wonder if a maxed out chin overrides a super punch, or at least neutralizes it.
