Sorry but thats a terrible idea. Goal line defense packs all your guys inside, so if they use a counter or pitch, they're gone.

4-4 is a bit weak on outside runs as well.

I'd have to say 3-4, or maybe 3-3-5 Stack formation.

If all else fails, just go Zone all game and give them their 4-6 yards a carry. Set strip to aggressive and make them have to run so many plays to score that a fumble is inevitable.

Is goal line that easy to run in against other users?

3-4. If his RB is fast than you can run goal-line and take HB Dives outside and up the sideline. The containment in this game is broken so they can do these kind of things and get away with it.

I've had some success with the 4-3 and either a) Set your corners to blitz or b) set them to cover the flat with zones set on aggressive. The most important part is NOT to let them get outside you. You have to overrun the play yourself and force them back inside to your AI players. Be careful with run committing, it gets completely destroyed by counters. If you decide to go that route, cover the cutback yourself.

1. Go onto practice field with two controllers.
2. Call goaline.
3. Call various defenses that you think might stop it.
4. Try different shifts and stunts with these defenses.
5. Repeat until you find a defense which stops or slows it down.

This process is referred to as "labbing" and can be used to figure out a counter to many offenses/defenses that may give you problems. To give you some direction 3-3-5 works for well me. Hope this helps.
