When was the last time the Yankees weren't the #1 overall team?

I don't think the Yankees have ever been lower than #1 in any of the show games. Even when I played my first baseball simulator which was MVP Baseball 04 they were the best team. Do you think that will change this year with the Red Sox adding Crawford and Gonzalez?

Their pitching top to bottom is too suspect to be the #1 overall team on paper. Who knows though, as I don't know how The Show calculates the Overall. In a 1 game playoff (Online mode) they are arguably going to still be the best team.

Best lineup in the league, Top 3 Bullpen in the league, and a top 5 starter pitching in that one game basically guarantees that for any given game they will be the best team.

Older bats, but VET leadership , pitching injury bug is the major issue I would say Boston is #1 and Yanks are 2

Boston is loaded now at offense with Crawford and Gonzales , of course the rays would have to trade the best player going into his prime years to the same division of course lol

Have we forgotten about the phils and their rotation? They're offense isn't bad by any means either. Id have to say them or the red sox are #1. Yanks should be #3 at best this year.

The lineup isn't really that old with the exception of A-Rod, Jeter and Posada. Everyone else is 30 or younger. Starting pitching is still a major flaw but pretty much the only hole with the Yankees giving their starting lineup and bullpen. I'd still peg them as #3 at the worst. But I do think #1 is possible based on whatever rankings the show has.
