Martinez-Dzinziruk

The upset is coming. Well at least I hope so. I'm a fan of Martinez. I think his one punch KO win over Williams was great. A little blown out of proportion, but still great. I know there is not a lot of info on Dziniruk, but for those that haven't seen him fight, you guys are in for a treat. One word..........the jab. They guy has one of, if not the best jab in boxing right now. Maybe not the best, but nobody else come to mind. This guy combos off it, controls distance with it, uses it as a defensive tool. All this with the most basic punch in boxing. This is exactly what makes him so effective with it. Most fighters use the jab to set up the big punches. Others use it as a range finder. He uses one punch for everything. The best thing about is jab is that it's always ready based on what his opponent is about to do.

Dziniruk by UD.

If I go by name recognition, I would first think that Martinez is taking a tune up bout. Then after further investigation Dziniruk is a capable boxer, but I don't believe he is a special fighter. Martinez though slightly past his prime is a special boxer and that to me is gonna be the difference.

Martinez UD (my safe bet) or Martinez KO 5 (risky bet)

If I have to be honest, I think Martinez will eventually get to Dziniruk with his speed and angles. Maybe around the 8th or 9th when he figures out how to get past the jab. I most always pull for the underdog and I can watch Dziniruk jab for a full 12 rounds. That jab is a thing of beauty. I'm still going with Dziniruk by UD, but the smart bet is on Martinez by KO or stoppage later on in the fight imo. To the part in bold, this is his chance and time to be great. Lets see if he delivers.

Martinez is an incredible talent. His only weakness in my opinion is his style (hands way too low, too risky) and although he does have good stamina, he gets tired in the later rounds.
If his stamina is on point, i don't see him losing.

He can take a lick and he's a good counter puncher.

That would be an upset. Not a lot of activity. He last fought 10 months ago and he's had two fights in the last 28 months against questionable competition.

Martinez is world class battle tested in his last four fights. Two with Paul Williams and one each with Pavlik and Cintron.

At worst an easy decision win for Martinez. (IMO)

It's almost time. Witness the greatest jab currently in the boxing world today.

Dzinziruk by UD. 8 rounds to 4. The jab and foot-movement will be too much for Martinez.

Re: Martinez-Dzinziruk

The Lee-McEwen fight was freaking fantastic!
Lee looked out on his feet and seemed only a good punch away from being stopped.
But he started throwing his left hand in the middle rounds and slowly started wearing down McEwen. Then came a big 9th and huge 10th.

I think it's safe to say he saved his career tonight.
