Changing player positions for better recruiting

Hello there,

I was wondering if there was a negative side effect of changing player positions for having a better recruiting chance?
For example, can I switch all the Centers of my team to PFs, when targeting another C? Will that affect player morale/abilities on the court?

Ratings will change when you change the players positions but it is not a huge difference. Sometimes your players ratings could go up a little if they fit the other position better than their current one.

Re: Changing player positions for better recruiting

I move guys around all the time. I recruit 6'7" or 6'8" SF and move them to PF if they are over 220lb. While they may take a point or two hit in overall it pans out after a year if they have a high enough potential rating (determines progression). I usually have to train them hard in areas like rebounding and defense. I recruit these guys because they fit my style of play. I like PF's who have a mid-range game or can hit a 3. Stretches the floor and opens the lane.

As far as opening up space to recruit players at a position, if you change a position then they count toward that position. If you move all your C's to PF then you will not have any C's so you may have a chance at landing a C the next year. If not you can always move them back.

Re: Changing player positions for better recruiting

Thanks for your input.
I was thinking of moving my SGs to PG, while trying to land a new SG. Then I would be playing with 2 PGs on the floor at the same time, and I was wondering if this would be a problem.
The thing I can´t figure out is, if a PG plays SG, do his abilities take a hit? (Same for SF playing SG, or C playing PF)

Basically don't worry about trying to play a 5 man squad PG,SG,SF,PF,C. If you do that you severely limit yourself on who plays and finding a good combination of players. For instance on my legacy I changed a SG to PG and he is my starting PG, then I changed a PG to SG and he starts at SG, then I changed another PG to SG and start him at SF, I have a SF start at PF, and then have a C and I have had good results from that. If you have 2 PGs playing at once it isn't a huge problem as long as the better PG is at the 1 and the better scorer of the two is playing SG. So it really comes down to how you play and what works best for you.
