MLB10 with 60hz vs 120hz

Has anyone else notice a difference between the two TVs? I usually play on the 60hz TV, but it recently broke, so I am using a 120hz TV and I am late on my swing about 90% of the time now, just can seem to catch up to the, fast or slow. Not a happy gamer right now!

I dont know a lot about TVs but some TVs have a "game mode" which I think helps with lag so that may be the problem.

If response time was the same the 120 Hz should be more accurate. What brands are the television sets?

Some TV's have "input lag" There are ways to remedy this such as trying out "game mode" in your input settings. There was a thread on the MLB community site but it would take some digging around to find it.

All HDTV has input lag but some more then others. This is caused by the processing that the tv has to make to get the picture to display after you press a button on the controller, that is why you are late on your swing.

TV's with 60hz have less lag but suffer from ghosting and blurring more often then those with 120hz. The 120hz is there to speed up the frames on the display to lessen the ghosting and blur but in return add more input lag due to having a longer response time then 60hz

The 240hz is the one that looks more amazing but it has the ultimate input lag which sucks.

Putting the tv on game mode will turn off many of the processing that 120hz and 240hz tv's go through to make the picture look sweet therefore the input lag is cut big time.

In game mode you will not really notice input lag but there is still some. The best judge is playing the game on a TN monitor and notice the difference when timimg games are involved

240hz tv's are terrible for gaming but amazing for tv watching.

60hz is great for gaming but do not look as amazing and you might see blurring due to 60hz refresh rate

I have a 50 inch samsung led 240hz tv and games look amazing but input lag sucks even on game mode (just not as bad)

Therefore I bought a samsung led monitor and now timing is on point

Both Sonys

60Hz is the KDL46W3000
120Hz is the KDL55EX500

I can't find the game mode on the TV, but I turned all Motion Flow and Cinema stuff off. Still doesn't play like the W3000.

Thanks for the information, I have to look for the gaming mode on the EX500, I loved the look of the W3000, unfortunately I had to replace the TV because the screen broke. I will update when I find and use the gaming mode.
