The Universe (BBCF-FBCB:2010)

The Universe is a sim world based around the FBS and FCS. The sim engines used are Bowl Bound and Fast Break College Basketball 2010. The beginning of the Universe takes place prior to the 2011 seasons in both football and basketball.

The previous seasons champs - FBS: Auburn, FCS: Eastern Washington , Choops: UConn.

The prestige’s in the Bowl Bound games are updated manually based on a system of wins and post season success. Teams in the FBS that aren't in BCS conferences get a deduction as well as teams in the FCS that either don't participate in the post season or don't offer scholarships. This is an attempt to add to the realism of The Universe.

All future conference movements have been made.

Some examples..:
FBS - TCU is a member of the Big East
FBS - Massachusetts is a football only member of the MAC.
FBS - Texas State and Texas-San Antonio are in the WAC.

FCS - Because Bowl Bound doesn't like 13 teams in a conference North Dakota is an Independent but plays a Big Sky schedule.

FCS - Charlotte's future football team is an Independent.

Future conference movement is based on an excel sheet that takes in many different factors.

Due to teams moving between Division 2, FCS and FBS an FCS Conference was added to the FBS sim and a Division 2 Conference was added to the FCS sim. These teams are basically placeholders but they also act as cupcake games.

Currently The Universe has two people involved with it, my brother and I, but people interested in joining may be able to do so later. *(I have no experience running online leagues with these games so that's why I don't know if this will be open to the public.)

Re: The Universe (BBCF-DDSCB)

Star RB, Aveion Crespino, runs in the Blue-White scrimmage for the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils.

New Britain, CT - Coach Brian McAllister walks into his new office for the first time, the last office he was in was with Coach Randy Edsall as a recruiting coordinator with the Connecticut Huskies. "I have landed on coaching gold." Coach McAllister said when he arrived on campus. Central Connecticut State has always been able to compete in the Northeast Conference. They have never really been known for being a national FCS power though. "This team has the ability to win the conference every year, but no one has been able to take those wins, and make them into a national power." McAllister said while looking over his office. Coach McAllister will try to be that coach to make CCSU into an FCS power. He has a lot to work with on campus already. Star RB, Aveion Crespino, will look to lead this smashmouth offense. "I'm excited to have Coach McAllister here, he looks to be a coach with a plan." RB Crespino said after meeting Coach McAllister. McAllister didn't have much time to recruit, and he ended up getting the 40th recruiting class . "Recruiting will be my main objective, if you get great classes, you will win." McAllister stated that he would release the camp roster and schedule at a later date. "I don't know a lot of things in this world, but I do know that we win here at CCSU, I guarantee it."

Coaching History
1986-1990 - Graduated from Princeton
1991-1996 - Princeton QB/WR Coach
1997-2006 - Princeton Offensive Cordinator
2007-2009 - Connecticut Recruiting Coordinator
2010-2011 - Central Connecticut State Head Coach

Re: The Universe (BBCF-DDSCB)

Introduction to the Daily Panther

Since I control both teams at EIU I will update my teams information here in the Daily Panther.

(Camp Stage)

It's that time again, time for another season of Eastern Illinois football. The Panthers come into the season as the #19 team in the country. The Panthers are coming off of an offseason which saw them lose their head coach to retirement. The new head coach, Thurlow Pendergrass, is an alum of Eastern who leaped at the chance to coach is beloved Panthers to the top. Pendergrass spent the last three seasons as the defensive backs coach at the University of Iowa.

"The chance to come back to Eastern was too incredible to pass up. I inherited a great team with a lot of potential and I can't was to get this season underway."

Coach Pendergrass has already proven his worth on the recruiting trail bringing in the #26 class in the nation one of the highest in Eastern history. The biggest signing in the class is Troy Atkins a 6-2 172 CB who is known for his ability to lock down any receiver.

"Coach Pendergrasses experience coaching defensive backs is the biggest reason I came to Eastern."

The Panthers open the season against rival Indiana State at O'Brien Field. The Sycamores have been down in recent years and the Panthers will have to stay alert to avoid the early season upset.

Eastern comes into the game as an 11 point favorite.

Introduction to the FBS

Currently there are no human coaches in the FBS so the season will run alongside the FCS sim. Jobs will open up and coach movements will be controlled by me.

Since there are no "human" coaches all updates from the FBS will be from the "National Media".

Bowl Bound National Media Report

Season Preview Edition

As the 2010 seasons gets ready to kick off we break down the Top 25, conference projections, and the top recruiting classes.

First up here's how the Top 25 shakes out.

1. Florida
2. Oklahoma
3. Alabama
4. LSU
5. Auburn
6. Texas
7. Georgia
8. USC
9. Ohio State
10. Missouri
11. Arkansas
12. Virginia Tech
13. Penn State
14. Tennessee
15. South Carolina
16. Kentucky
17. Texas Tech
18. Louisville
19. Wisconsin
20. Connecticut
21. West Virginia
22. Oregon
23. Pittsburgh
24. Florida State
25. Texas AM

No surprise here, another season with a major SEC Bias as 9 of 12 SEC schools make an appearance in the first Top 25.

There is somewhat of a surprise that no non-AQ schools cracked the preseason Top 25. This means Boise State will have to win out and hope that the top schools beat up on each other for them to have any shot at the title this season.

Next up is the conference break downs.

ACC Champ: Virginia Tech
2nd Place: Florida State

Big East Champ: Louisville
2nd Place: Connecticut

Big Ten Champ: Ohio State
2nd Place: Penn State

Big Twelve Champ: Oklahoma
2nd Place: Texas

Conference USA Champ: Central Florida
2nd Place: Eastern Carolina

MAC Champ: Central Michigan
2nd Place: Temple

Mountain West Champ: Boise State
2nd Place: Hawaii

Pac-12 Champ: USC
2nd Place: Oregon

SEC Champ: Florida
2nd Place: Alabama

Sun Belt Champ: Troy
2nd Place: Louisiana-Monroe

WAC Champ: Louisiana Tech
2nd Place: Idaho

Due to the NCAA prohibiting FCS teams from playing FBS teams we have some interesting non conference matchups which we have separated into a couple of categories.

Week 1
Big Money Games
*** Game of the Week ***
#8 USC @
#7 Georgia
- The only big time college football game of the week pits #7 USC at #7 Georgia. USC tries to go "between the hedges" and pull out a big one for school and conference pride.

"These are the type of games we wanted to see when we passed the rule prohibiting FCS schools from playing FBS schools" NCAA President Rodney Poole.

Pay Games
#20 UConn @
Rice
- With TCU joining the Big East Conference Connecticut has decided to make a recruiting trip to the Houston area play the Rice Owls. UConn may not have the name recognition to pack the stands but Rice has a chance to knock off a BCS conference school early in the season.

#11 Arkansas @
Bowling Green
- Bowling Green got a big fund raising opponent in Arkansas for Week 1. The Razorbacks are looking to get a little exposure in the Midwest while Bowling Green fans get an opportunity to see what SEC speed looks like.

Top 10 Recruiting Classes and Top Signing
1. Oklahoma
- 5* QB Chris Taylor, Jenks (Jenks, OK)
2. Georgia
- 5* WR Corey Cappadona, Pearl (Pearl, MS)
3. Texas
- 5* RB Tony Brooking, Bangs (Bangs, TX)
4. Boise State
- 5* FS Leonard Jones, Carmel (Carmel, CA)
5. LSU
- 5* RB David Terrell, Plant (Tampa, FL)
6. Penn State
- 5* WR Chris Hawkins, Milford (Milford, NH)
7. Florida
- 5* ILB Santana Branch, Clay County (Celina, TN)
8. Texas Tech
- 5* RB Charles Belton, Maysville (Maysville, OK)
9. South Florida
- 5* SS Al Wiley, West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS)
10. Auburn
- 5* WR Raleigh Marangi, Rockmart (Rockmart, GA)

Re: The Universe (BBCF-DDSCB)

Bowl Bound National Media Report

Week 1 Review

It's only been one week and already we've seen major parody in college football.

Game of the Week

There is no doubt after this game that Larry McKenzie is the Heisman front runner.

Week 1 - at Sanford Stadium
TEAM1ST2ND3RD4THSCORE
#8 USC (1-0)17213647
#7 Georgia (0-1)3100720

Athens, GA - In a statement game for the new Pac-12 Conference USC made sure that SEC fans everywhere recognized the power out west. At halftime with a score of 38-13 Georgia fans began heading for the exits. It's one thing to win a game like this; it's quite another to win in the fashion that USC demonstrated. Coach Kiffin seemed to draw up exactly the right play at exactly the right time which is evident by the incredible stat line put up by Senior quarterback Larry McKenzie. McKenzie was 31-38 with 514 yards passing and 5 touchdowns.

McKenzie after the game, "I have incredible receivers that found the holes in the coverage all game and coach Kiffin and the staff put us in positions to make plays the whole game."

Upset Report
#17 Texas Tech: 16
@ Illinois: 23
- Illinois played a near perfect game and managed to run the ball very well against the Red Raiders. No shame in Texas Tech losing to another BCS conference school on the road, but this is one they should have won. Can Texas Tech rebound after the early season loss?

NC State: 13
@ East Carolina: 40
- Coach Holtz pulls off a huge win for Conference USA. East Carolina has set themselves up to make a run for a BCS game if they can win out.

Northwestern: 13
@ Eastern Michigan: 17
- Eastern Michigan has been one of the worst teams in FBS history but they bring in Northwestern who apparently forgot there was a game to be played. Coach Fitzgerald is taking heat for this loss; can he right the ship soon?

Kansas: 12
@ North Carolina: 10
- This game is only an upset because Kansas won on the road. North Carolina not being able to protect their house has to concern them going into ACC play.

Virginia: 31
@ Kansas State: 28
- Virginia has been a bottom feeder in the ACC, but this win could build some confidence going into ACC play.

North Texas: 31
@ Arizona: 17
- Very rarely does coach Stoops not get his team up for a game, but Arizona thought North Texas would submit as they walked into the stadium. The Mean Green had different ideas and played a perfect game, especially on the defensive end.

Texas State: 23
@ Arizona State: 20 OT
- Texas State hangs around and hangs around, gets the game into overtime, then kicks the game winning field goal. Apparently no one from Arizona wanted to play this week.

Two milestones were set in Week 1 with Texas State and Texas-San Antonio winning their first games as members of the FBS.
