Goalie Injuries

Last year, goalies would only get injured if you simmed games in Be a GM. Have they fixed it this year where they can be injured in game? And if not, can they still be injured during simmed games?

Seems like a little thing but with no goalie fatigue, injuries are the only challenge to setting lineups at the goalie position.

Re: Goalie Injuries

I have seen several simmed goalie injuries. I have not seen any injuries to any goalie during game play. So it seems my goalies will never get hurt as I play out all the games.

Re: Goalie Injuries

Hopefully goalie injuries and fatigue are added for NHL '12'.

This has been mentioned several times by lots of NHL gamers. [for good reason] I hope it's been talked about enough times, that EA Canada acts on it.

Re: Goalie Injuries

I was watching the Philadelphia-Rangers game tonight, and when Mason got hurt this instantly came to mind.

It's great that goalies do, in fact, get injured at a reasonable rate in NHL 13 when games are simmed. It'd just be nice if there would be more of a risk when goalies go for those scrambling, acrobatic saves.

Just like skaters, goalies should be able to get injured during gameplay, especially on cerain goalie interference penalties. The Ryan Miller-Milan Lucic incident comes to mind.

Re: Goalie Injuries

Currently, goalies cannot get injured during live gameplay.

Simmed games are the only way goalies can get hurt.

Re: Goalie Injuries

This seems to be due to the animation of goalies. I see them holding the puck on the ice crouched over, and slammed into them and moved them 3 meters, and nothing happens to either.

It's like we're just objects but not interactive in the intelligence of the game. Look what happens when the goalie just takes his mask off skates to the side and back to his net. He is immovable in anyway. So I think that's why the game mind is not causing injured goalies. They aren't interactive in the way players are.
