3-4 Defense

Does anybody else have trouble getting sacks using the 3-4 defense. I play on my skill and it seems like getting sacks in the 3-4 defense is impossible. My defense always ranks top 3 in the league but I can't getting sacks. I thought maybe switching my defensive philisophy from 4-3 to 3-4 would help but apparently not.

Unfortunately, Madden never is, never was, and probably never will be designed so the 3-4 will work.

I'm interested in this too. For some reason, they've never been able to get the elite OLBs to dominate in the pass rush. Whether you're playing 3-4, or 4-3, it's the DEs that put up the sack numbers.

What i do is use the multiple d playbook. So i start with the 4-3 to get the offense thinking coverage but then about halfway the the 2nd u can blitz with the 3-4. Throw in a little 46 too

All you need is big DEs and a big DT that are terrible at getting away from blockers, and use them as "defensive blockers" for your fast linebackers. Managed to get 13.5 sacks with Shaun Phillips (LOLB) and 10 sacks with Von Miller (ROLB) in one season in franchise.

try shifting your DL at the last second toward the side of the LB that is blitzing. i have found a decent amount of success with this as my LB comes off clean at times. whether he gets there in time or not is more dependent on the offensive play call, the QB dropback, and the coverage.

substitute strong for big, since size doesnt mean anything in the game
