NBA Trade Deadline Discussion Thread

Do you think OJ Mayo will be traded come deadline? To where?

Bobcats are now making Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson available because of the teams slump, Chicago and Detroit were said to be most receptive to a deal.

And what about B. Roy and Andre Miller, I hear one of them is on the go. Looks like Roy's value is declining very quickly even though I still think he would put up decent numbers in some places if he could play without the ball in his hands.

I love trade rumors so how do you think some of these will play out?

Re: NBA Trade Rumors-Where do you think they'll end up?

Damn if we let Wallace go I wil be sad. Jackson could easily be traded, he hasn't played very well this year.

Before we do all that, I say we let Larry Brown go. He coaching style is draining this team.

I don't know how probable it is, but I think the Hornets would be a perfect fit for Stephen Jackson, especially given their recent offensive struggles. He's very productive even though his salary never goes above $10 mil over the next 3 season. Quite fitting for a 32 year old.

Re: NBA Trade Rumors-Where do you think they'll end up?

From a Bulls perspective, I'm a little more welcoming to a deal for O.J. Mayo or Stephen Jackson after I heard rumors of a potential deal that would land JR Smith.

Mayo is struggling this season but I do feel a change of scenery might do him good. And he's young. I believe Rose and him are the same age. Him and Rose could potentially be the best back court for years to come. Yeah, he's had his share of issues BUT not to the length of JR Smith.

Stephen Jackson could be a great short term answer. But that's the only problem, he'll only be here for the short term. So if the Bulls feel they can win the championship within the next two years then go for it. And even though Jackson has luggage, most of it is off the court and has rarely affected the chemistry of the team. He was the starting two guard for a championship team(2003 Spurs), so to his credit he's not a clubhouse cancer.

The Bulls would be taking the biggest risk by trading for Smith. Which I feel would blow up in their face. And it's really ashame because if Smith had an ounce of pride and dignity as a ball player, I'd take him over the other two players I just mentioned.

I'd love for the Cavs to go after OJ Mayo. I also like to see them move Antwan Jamison and No Show Mo, but with their contracts, it's going to be tough.

Re: NBA Trade Rumors-Where do you think they'll end up?

The problem with Roy is that he doesn't want to play without the ball in his hands. He seems to hate the fact that Miller's presence takes the ball away from him. Personally don't think he's going anywhere, especially with his injury history and contract.

OJ does look like he's up for grabs. The Grizzlies don't really have any terrible contracts so it would be up to what can they get in return for him. Look for an OJ/Thabeet package in the future.

The Cavaliers will likely be looking to move:

Jamison
Williams
Andy
JJ
and Boobie.

I'd love to see Boobie in either Chicago or LA. Same with Williams.

Jamison would probably fit somewhere like Phoenix

Andy, I'd put good money that both SA and Denver would be interested in him.

JJ, if traded, would probably be heading to San Antonio as well.

I wouldn't. Don't need any undersized shooting guards on the Bulls.
