Re: Top 10 Albums of 2010?

I'll just go with five here. My other "favorites" bottomed out too much to rank:

1) Alter Bridge - AB III
2) One Less Reason - Faces & Four Letter Words
3) Jimmy Eat World - Invented
4) Lifehouse - Smoke & Mirrors
5) Avenged Sevenfold - Nightmare

Re: Top 10 Albums of 2010?

I only listen to rap/hip-hop so my list is limited to a Top 5. I still haven't listened to a few albums like the new Lloyd Banks, Rick Ross, Bun B, etc. so this list could change or be added to later on.

1. Eminem - Recovery
2. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
3. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot
4. B.o.B - The Adventures of Bobby Ray
5. Nas & Damian Marley - Distant Relatives

Recovery is a no-brainer for me at number 1. Kanye and Big Boi came through with great albums, but Recovery is an all-time great album to me. This was Em's big comeback and he didn't let me down at all. There was really only 1 track (W.T.P.) that I feel the need to skip when I listen to the whole album. Also, 6 months later I'm still listening and enjoying it, so that's the big reason I think this is the best album of the year.

As for a few notable albums that didn't make my Top 5, Drake's album wasn't bad, but it could have been better and the albums I listed above were more complete IMO. He had some great songs, but he threw in too many R&B songs. I know that's part of who Drake is, and I like some of his R&B songs to be honest, but the ones on the album weren't good.

CuDi's album was a letdown. The first Man on the Moon was great from pretty much the 1st track to the 12th one. To me the second album has too many tracks on it and I felt there was tracks that shouldn't have made the album. If it was cut down to 12-13 songs or so it would have been a lot better.

EDIT: If we're counting mixtapes as well, J. Cole's Friday Night Lights would replace B.o.B at #4 for me.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Couldn't have said either better myself, though I skip "On Fire" instead of "W.T.P."

And you definitely nailed the Cudi album. There are three songs on there (Scott Mescudi Vs The World, Mr. Rager and Erase Me) that I listen to a lot, but there are just so many forgettable songs that I want to skip. For instance, I usually get to "Don't Play This Song" and realize how much I hate it and then just skip down to Erase Me because I know I like that one.

As for my list -

Eminem - Recovery

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
B.o.B. - Adventures of Bobby Ray

I don't know if I listened to, and liked, any other full albums. I still need to go through Friday Night Lights and Big Boi's album, as well as the new Kings of Leon, but that's about it. I did enjoy both of the tapes Wiz released, but neither of them would crack the Top 5 or 10 if I had enough albums to list.
