Sooo when will 2k stop using ps2 tech?

But im looking for the mlb the show type basketball game.. there are just to many issues that are repeat offenders since dreamcast, sliding, poor defense..( The long time it takes from button input to them raising their hands or double team or hard fouls ) Dont get me wrong it is a very good game but quality wise it lags behind fifa, nhl, mlb. Now when I mean poor defense I mean how if dwight howard has the ball in the paint players should be trying to yank his shoulder out of socket to prevent him from going up, Too many times the double team is too slow and they watch and admire him as he puts it back. there are other issues but I dont feel like typing anymore, but the main thing is there will not be a new console for at least 4 more years. I dont know if I can handle 4 more years of ps2 tech.

Eh...i dont think creating a new tech is a good idea at this point considering 2k basketball is pretty much on top of it all..

Why not just wait for nba elite/live to come back next year? Kind of over dramatizing a bit with the 4 more years of ps2 tech when there's an alternative next year *shrug*

I think 2K needs to step up and use a new engine. It's been nice, 2K11 is a hell of a game - but that's where it ends. Personally, I'm not going to pay money for tweaked gameplay and updated rosters. But that's me.

It's time to get back to the time when new games meant more than tweaked gameplay and better lighting.

I first started playing 2K basketball with 2K5. I must say the gameplay engine from 2K11 isn't too far off from 2K5. The gameplay has vastly improved but still has that slow button input rockchisler mentioned in the OP. 2K11 doesn't feel as stiff as 2K5 did.

I don't know that removing 3/4 of the statistics, making the players look like cartoon men, bombing half the franchise, making the interface convoluted, designing the gameplay around a casual fan's idea of the sport and making it about "stick skills" would be advancement.

But, that's just me, I guess.
