Any chance they're gonna fix the sim stats in Be a GM?

I just simmed a season and there was only one guy with over 100 pts. The top assist man only had 61...wich is pretty ridiculous considering there was 5 guys with well over 60 assists in the NHL last year. And don't even get me started on the goalie stats. Any chance EA is gonna fix this with a patch? Because at this point it's pretty much a game breaker for me since BE a GM mode is the only mode I play. I'm honestly thinking about returning this game because of this reason. Be a GM is pretty much ruined as far as I'm concerned. Are there any tricks around this? I remember in NHL09 I think it was, if you simmed the games on different skill levels you would get different results.

I really hope EA fixes this in a patch. I know that's probably wishfull thinking, but still....

Stat engine in NHL 10 did not lead to very credible results either, so I doubt it will be fixed now if it has not been done already. Considering it is difficult (or impossible) to view career stats in general, this is not (by itself) a deal breaker for me. I also only play BeAGM. The sim engine, and inability to view stats, appear pretty similar between NHL 10 and 11.

Yeah the sim stats are pretty awful in some cases, but not all. Not a game killer for me though. I'm currently on season 3 of my test BeaGM (waiting on rosters to start real) I play a handful of games, but mostly sim. Season one points leader was Crosby with 102. (Ovie top 10) Season 2 points leaders was Vanek with 93. (Ovie only had 76 and played 82 games)

Also, I really wish they would add entire career stats to player profiles along with listing all awards won, all star appearances, etc. Also career, team, season, game records, that can be broken, a lot like NCAA does.

They do have career stats for players though. You just need to click on the player's card and it's in the top right corner where his draft info is.

But back to the topic, simming on different skill levels still gets the same stats results?

I remember having a ridiculous season, at least in my opinion (Then again, I was a rookie, having a top 10 stat season.
But even with what i thought was a ton of goals, Oveckin and Crosby still outscored me.
Oddly though...the Capitals missed the playoffs both of my BeAGM seasons.

Ok yeah I see what you're saying. I was referring more about the individual seasons they break down. You only get the last 4. I wish it also displayed the team the player played for during each season of his individual season stats breakdown.

Anyway, finished another season. Taylor Hall lead league in points with 104 followed by Stamkos at 98. Crosby led league in goals with 45. So 2 out of the past 3 seasons the goal scoring crown has gone to Crosby. Sadly Ovechkin barely makes the top 15 again even after playing a full season of games. 6 guys had 60 or more assists. No one hit 50 goals this season, but Crosby hit it 2 years ago and Kovy the year before that so it does happen just not every season. Overall I'm still somewhat happy with sim stats, just a few weird instances like with Ovechkin after 4 seasons who has yet to put up lifelike stats. I think 84 total points has been his high in 4 seasons.

Side note some of the CPU generated rookies from past drafts are now starting to appear on the league leading lists and making names for themselves in my league. Adds a new element of excitement to the game.

As ucas005 noted, they just give the most recent four seasons of stats. The part you are talking about, if I am understanding correctly, just gives games, goals and points (no +/-, shots, hits, PIM, etc). No mention anywhere of awards, team records, all-star teams made, etc. On the player retirement screen, like the top right corner of player's card, just has games, goals (and assist on the retirement screen) and points - what about defensive players? No plus/minus? No PIM? No hits? Plus, incredibly, you cannot sort by the categories in the retirement screen. It is like EA said, "How can we make stats harder to find and view?" The game immersion really suffers by not being able to get into the careers of my players. I was really hoping this would be fixed in NHL 11, but I suppose it'll be there in NHL 52 same as NHL 12. Very disappointing.

Simmed stats definitely leave something to be desired.
I'm a big sim nerd so this nearly ruins the game for me.
We've been saying this for 5 years now, but I really hope the EA team fixes the sim engine for NHL12.
