Today's game vs Yesterdays. Current teams vs classics
This has nothing to do with how 2k11 plays but rather how teams match up. I've been playing a few games using the old school Lakers. I've had tough games against some lesser teams like the Kings! To me it seems there are more athletic players than in the past. Not neccesarily better though. Just bigger & faster. Particularly at the forward & guard positions. Also the NBA of the 80s & early 90s was much more inside oriented. Everybody posted up & drove to the hoop. I watched some video of the 1990 Lakers & other than Byron Scott, everybody played close to the paint. Worthy was primarily a post up player. Not many small forwards rely on posting up as much today. They also took few 3 pointers. Everything was execution & getting a close shot. Today there is more 1 on 1 & and use of the 3. To win using the old Lakers I really have to execute plays because there's no Kobe, Melo, Durant, to just break down the D 1 on 1. Fun matches really but makes me realize the game has changed more than I thought!
