The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat

The 2011 season just started for me. I use the Yankees. I lost my first 5 games, but I just won one. Those first 5 games had me steamin' at times. I can't believe how much I can feel defeat in this game.

On the other hand, after I won my last game, I was thrilled and that feeling stuck around for a minute. Every run was felt. Each home run and run still had that feel of accomplishment.

The point of this post is this: After 7 months of playin' MLB 10 The Show, the game still evokes incredibly strong emotions in me based on whether I win or lose. And to me, that's amazing.

In total agreement. It does baseball so well, that it conveys the emotions that go along with it. No other sports game in my opinion has ever done that.

I know the feeling. I'm 19 games into 2011, I started 7-0 and I am now 8-11 and I couldn't be having more fun with this game!

Re: The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat

I agree 150%
I'm starting a season using Knights 2000 roster set and dropped my first 2 games in extra innings against the Cubs....I was pissed!
The third game of the series I faced Kerry Wood and it was a 0-0 game till the 7th inning when all of a sudden I hit 3 homeruns....I went on to win that game and felt good that I finally won.
Then late last night I played the first game of a weekend series vs Barry Bonds and the giants.....I won 10-1 with 17 hits, so yes the ups and downs of this game make each game feel important...you almost have to remind yourself that it's a LONG season and one loss does not mean you should spike the controller through your dogs face

Count me in as well. This is still the only game I love to lose!

If his first 2 series were against the Cubs & Giants, it looks like the Braves. Come on Knight, you should have figured that out.

I agree that the game is still as captivating to me now as it was on release day. Year in and year out, no annual game keeps me interested like The Show.
