Effectiveness of double teaming?

I havent noticed any real benefit of calling for a double team. I havent played since 2k9, I know in that game you can get an animation where you tie up the ballhandler. I havent really seen anything like that in 2k11. Ill usually call for a double team and then both guys kinda just putz around and the guy will split the double team or get out of it no problem. Any tips for using it?

It just takes a while for the animation to initiate.

You are right its seems like the double team is not effective when they do double

You have to wait for the animation to take place. It takes longer to do so than it did in 2K10.

yeah i finally saw it tonight, im gonna have to say the double isnt really doing a whole lot.

anyways this whole ****ing game is starting to really frustrate me I just threw my case for it against the wall. I cant take the inconsistent controls. There will be a foot of open space between a guy and the basket, sometimes hell stop and shoot a jump shot, sometimes hell try to do some random crazy *** move and get blocked, rarely willl they just go up for the quick slam, this is all with the same button press of RT and shot stick towards the hoop.

I figured out why I dont get all pissed when I play halo and games like that. Its cuz the controls are actually doing what you say to do. I cant take this random ********edness in this game, im taking a long break

Everytime I double, they just shoot over it, no problem. It might as well be uncontested.

Yeah the double teams suck, but the thing that bothers me is that no matter how good you play shot defense in the post they seem to make the shot at the same rate.

You could be guarding the post, see the shot coming a mile away, perfectly time your jump to contest....... swish.

Might as well just let the CPU play defense.

This and the charge system..not really as effective as one would like.
