Re: Superstar mode sliders?
So I've been working on sliders for superstar QB.
Seems as though the sliders just dont work very well for this mode. A perfect example being that my defensive pass rush is all the way down to 0 and the CPUs pass block is all the way up to 100. My team still manages 5 to 7 sacks per game on average.
The games are very bipolar from week to week. I got blown out 34-17 by the Seahawks who passed 250 yards and 130 rushing yards, then I destroy the Cheifs 38 to 0. They managed 33 passing yards and 20 rushing yards. I can't move the sliders in favor of the CPU at all otherwise they have 200-300+ rushing games with maybe a handful of passing attempts. Very delicate balance there with their ground game that I can't quite find a setting that works as it should with each team.
I also have QB passing and reciever catching at 100 each. Matt Cassell went 3 for 18, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs. My pass defense is 0/5/0. Seems I can't really do anything else to improve the CPU there.
As far as MY QB play goes, I'm having a lot of fun. Seems rather solid, but I'm still making minor adjustments with it.
Really the only problem I'm having is what I've mentioned already. The sim engine is subpar and its obvious that EA didn't even touch this game mode since last year. The sliders produce results but they are not consistent at all.
I will continue to work on the sliders but I can already see there are several things I cannot fix at all, such as the human pass rush.
A little more time and effort and they'd have a great game mode outside of franchise and online play. Getting good results with these busted sliders is about as easy as getting a crippled dog to win the Iditarod.
