Does anyone know what the strength attribute does in madden 2011?

I've been away from Madden for awhile and I'm wondering if anyone has the details on what different attributes do. I'm wondering if I'm operating on some long-held beliefs of mine that can actually be validated.

Going back to Madden 2005 and before or so, I always operated under the assumption that STR (strength) did the following things:

1.) Helped a running back stiff arm and run people over, and fall forward.
2.) Helped a defensive player shed blocks
3.) Helped offensinve lineman block

Now they have new attributes, such as Trucking, Power Move, Run Block Strength, etc. Does regular old Strength still play a big role here?

I'm an offline franchise player and I always want my draft picks to have high Strength, maybe because I'm thinking it's important like it was in the old games. Do I still need to care about STR?

I've always wondered what beat press is

I think beat press (or Release) is how well a TE or WR gets off the line of scrimmage in bump and run coverage... I wonder if Strength contributes to this too, or if it's just your Release rating...
