JT and DereckM's pro/allstar slider/more like nba not so much bumping

Dont be scared away because the low On-ball defense. Teams with better defenders will help on defense and make driving to the basket tougher. The game has too much bumping of the ballhandler on the perimeter. The game doesnt call blocking fouls and really any fouls other than shooting enough.

Also its a bit more realistic because you dont see people getting bumped out of their dribble that much in the NBA without a foul being called. We have tested about 20-30 games and these give us the best feel for what we see in the NBA. Give them a go and leave some feedback.

With on-ball Defense at 10 I will be Euro-step dunking with Iggy all day, Sorry these aren't for me

I don't know why you would want to do that tho. but try it and see what you think. don't iso your way to every score. actually run some plays and see what you get.

i agree with mike... once you beat the defender (with a guy like d. rose) you'll be getting layups all day long. nice premise, but not my taste either. thanks, though!

thats understandable. what we were going for is a bit more of what you actually see happening in games. Not necessarily the toughest video game to play. if d.rose has gotten by his man, well, too late! lol. he's gone. however doing it with cj watson once rose has to sit, different story.

Hey guys! thanks for your work on the sliders. What kind of results are you getting. I am interested because i too want to play the game like the NBA is played on a night to night basis. Is the CPU still competitive with these? Are they challenging? Let everyone know what kind of games you are getting with these sliders. Again, thanks for the hard work!

Well, i'll say that these are not necessarily the most challenging of sliders. However some of the things that we were interested in was reducing some of the bumping on the perimeter and a couple of the animations that coincide with the battle in the paint. There is definitely a trade off in some ways.

Typically the way we play doesn't involve a bunch of iso moves, so the subtle things like spacing, jabbing and running the play are at a premium. Because we are constantly running plays and allowing the chessmatch of running plays and sets to be the determining factor more than "stick skills". We are not trying to beat the cpu at the videogame, but more or less beat the "team" we are playing at what they do.

So getting good stats at the end of games is fairly important, as well as being competitive within the game. Im using sacramento in my season, so the things we are deficient in are the ways I expect to lose. We don't have many explosive one on one players, and thats depicted in the way these sliders play out. Im 3-5 early in the season, and have a really tough time handling the really good teams. im competitive with the good teams and can generally beat the teams on my level or below.

Most of all it feels pretty good and it's fun.

Re: JT and DereckM's pro slider/more like nba not so much bumping

Interesting, this is the direction I've been going with my sliders as well, though I'm on Allstar. I like the attempt that 2K gave trying to make things more difficult and force you to run plays, etc but it's not very realistic.

I didn't lower the ON BALL DEFENSE as far as you guys though. i stopped at 30. I then upped the HELP DEFENSE and CONTEST SHOTS. I see you guys lowered BALL HANDLING which I think is a must when lowering the man to man D.

I'm definitely enjoying the the game more since. Game really seems to have a better flow to it.
