Need help with the face-up post move please!

Hey guys, I did this move with Pau once in the demo where I passed it into him while he was posting a guy up, did the faceup move where you move the left stick away from the basket, and he seamlessly went into a drive right by the defender towards the paint. How exactly did I do this? haha.

The animation was like connected with the face-up so he did the face-up then straight to the drive. I've tried holding the left stick back to do the face-up, then towards the basket, but there's always a huge pause betweeen the two, and he doesn't really drive he just walks like normally. Any help?

LS away from the basket like you said and then pull the LT. Also...

1. Make sure you are actually engaged in a post up. There must be contact with the defender and make sure your player is not standing straight up and down. Just because he has his back to the basket in the game does not mean he's engaged in a post up.

2. You have not used your dribble yet.

If you have those two prerequisites met then LS towards half court and pulling the LT will do the trick.

Crap, actually I still don't have it down haha.

I get what you're saying about actually being engaged in the post - I've got that down. That's how I get him to do the face-up. But afterwards, I can't get him to do the drive in.

When you say LS towards half-court, do you mean mid court? And are you just saying that because that's generally away from the basket? I don't quite get when to pull the LT, after the face-up animation is over, or during it? And where the LS should be pointed... I'm not catching it all sorry >.<

When you pull the LT is when you actually will begin the move. You can catch the ball and hold LS towards half court (literally point in towards mid court, don't confuse "away" by meaning it could be towards the sidelines based on your position. For this move the LS is always towards the midcourt line.) for as long as you'd like but the LT will trigger the move.

Here's a vid of me doing the move with Amare.

Thanks man, that's exactly the move I was talking about. I thought it was like a chain of the face-up and then that move, but I guess it's it's own move together.

So wait... You do the face up but after that do you continue to hold L2/LT or do you release it?

I'm having some success doing the face up and then speed bursting with the R2/RT but it's not exactly the animation that you're doing.

So what exactly is it?

The move that vid is just holding the LS towards mid court and then pulling the LT. It's really a simple move, just go into the practice session for post moves and try it. Once you figure out how to do it it's very easy.
