MyPlayer Bench Question

So maybe I'm doing something wrong here or theres a setting i don't know of. But is there anyway to skip being on the bench like in last years game? I don't see a button which I think was Y in the past. I don't wanna be stuck on this bench having to watch the game in Summer Circuit lol

Press Y or Triangle. It says it in the bottom left corner of your screen.

The thing isn't showing up like its supposed to, I don't know why. I know it was there last year but I don't know why it isn't for me.

Same thing happening to me right now. I'm playing in the Summer games and when I go to the bench it does not allow me to press Y.
