Question regarding Shot Stick Timing....

What determines whether you hit or miss the shot solely base off of this since it's not relative to percentages???

Say your practicing with Rip Hamilton and your getting a perfect release every time yet your still not making any baskets, what is the determination for the misses?

i wonder the same because in 2k games prior i would miss most of my perfect releases and make most of my late releases which i though was very weird

i think it has to do with the shot timing + the stat of the player

But I thought that happened when you use the realistic player % instead of shot stick timing.

I was thinking Shot Stick timing was along the lines of EA's shooting with the right stick in Elite. Meaning if you always get the timing right then you make the shot. Maybe one of the devs could further explain this.
