Goal Variety

What's the most common goal you score? And how much goal variety are you getting? And same questions except for goals scored on you.

For me(a strictly online vs player) , lately I've been really successful at passing the puck across the face of goal for a nice top shelfer. I've gotten better at predicting whether or not and where my opponent will lay his stick down. I'm usually money on breakaways if I have a good distance between me and the last defender and if he doesn't take control of his goalie. I get the occasional one timer slapshots from the point and wide angles but mostly score on those passes.

Most of the goals scored on me are all bull****! No jk. They're usually from slapshots and one timers from the point. I try to guard the slot with my life since most people try to dance their way in there the majority of the time anyway. I do give up a lot of rebounds but most of them don't go in.

I also like to pick my shots carefully so I protect the puck as much as I can until I find an opening rather than firing a barrage of shots to the goalie hoping one of them will go through. I've had a few games where I would win 3-1 or 4-1 when my shot total only equaled like 8-10 while my opponent hit more around 30.

Not a ton of goal variety right now, but I'm trying to change that. Much harder this year to work in the slot, so most of my goals have been a.) shots from the point deflected through traffic b.) crash the net scrums that end up with the puck in the goal. With the CPU gobbling up the passing lanes, it makes it much harder to work in front consistently.

damn - crosby's speed is insane in that vid but couldn't you simply dive at the side of the net? and i don't see how they could possibly add an animation to allow your player to do what OV did ... dude is superman.

goal variety is terrible on manual aim IMO. it always has been!!

now, on auto aim, you see all sorts of goals that you wouldnt with manual.

edit - that Crosby goal was coming right at us on our end. what a goal!!

What goals are you not seeing with manual aim? I've never used auto aim and I seem to have plenty of variety. Considering it's user controlled you shouldn't have any issues at all getting good variety on manual aim at all.
