Sportsgamerblog interview with Gusto Games Derek Hartin (John Daly's Pro Stroke Golf)

Greetings, all.

Today, I had the opportunity to interview Derek Hartin, one of the developers of John Daly's Pro Stroke Golf.

Here's a bit of what we discussed in the interview.

- How involved John Daly was in the making of the game

- How much of a challenge it was to develop the game for the Playstation Move controller on the PS3

- How the courses were selected and if more courses will be available via DLC later on

- What makes the game different from other games on the market

- How involved were the commentators (Sam Torrance and Peter Kessler) in the game and what do they add to it

- How many online gameplay modes are available

- What challenges were there to replicate John's swing versus others in the game

Here's a link to the interview on iTunes.

Enjoy!

Anyone here planning on picking this up tomorrow? There's minimal info out there. A video would certainly be nice. I wasn't aware of the game 'til I heard Daly talking about it with Dan Patrick on his radio show last week.

Be warned, the PC version does not have any online play according to a Dev post in their forums.

He did mention that in the online component is missing from the PC game in the interview as well.

My early impressions of the game are very favorable. The swing model is quite a bit more challenging than Tiger Woods was. Plus, I love having the whole 18 hole course rendered, so that if you really hook a shot, you might end up playing off of another fairway, rather than being OB.
