Re: Be a pro mode

The BAP feature seems to be very flawed this year (NHL11) so don't feel bad. I'm leading the NHL in scoring in my BAP and still get demoted.

Re: Be a pro mode

I just started BAP mode, but after reading all these posts I think I'm going to not bother with it...

Re: Be a pro mode

BAP mode sucks pretty bad, Be A GM is miles better (although it still has plenty of flaws, too).

What drives me nuts about BAP is that the whole process is very unrealistic. I was drafted by Detroit, had a good preseason, and then my 74 overall center bumps Pavel Datsyuk down to the second line? When I play "authentic" my player gets 30+ minutes of ice time a game, meanwhile Datsyuk gets about 10. There needs to be a way to get realistic ice time distributions without having to spend most of the game watching the CPU play. I'd like to see a "sim" feature in-game that allows you to play all of your shifts and skip everything inbetween. That alone would make the mode much more appealing.

There is a slider that you can adjust that helps even out the time on ice. If you adjust the fatigue affect, that will knock down the length that your line is skating. I went from having 30+ minutes a game down to 20+ (much more realistic).
Of course, the give and take on this is that you do sit and watch more of the computer action if playing authentic (I do). You could always do position lock, and play some of the other teammates while your BAP is sitting and resting.
