APF 2k8 Editor?

Do you guys think it is possible? There must be something that is keeping someone from making one. It would definitely make this game way more interesting if you could rename the generics and change their numbers and skin type.

Unfortunately, it's not possible. I can't recall the posts/threads on the APF sub-forum but if you do a quick search someone explains why the roster file can't be edited.

If this game had been editable we'd have figure it out by now.

There is an encryption on the file and it we would not be able to put the file back into the game without knowing that encryption. This is what we were told.

So someone from 2k would have to tell us what the encryption was and help us out, which I highly doubt.

That's the feedback I received from FlyinFinn (think that's his name) that does the 2K5 editor. Basically they encrypt the file (sign it) before it's shared over the net to avoid hacking in online games, which makes sense.

Actually, an editor for Xbox360 version would probably be possible now that re-signers are so prevalent. I think I remember changing one of the team names to Giants and it showing up in game after resigning the file...

Finn, if there is a person out there that can develop an editor for 2k8, it's you. If an editor would be possible now, it would totally revitalize and change the game for the better. Hell, if you could even change the names of the generics for a team, that would be a huge break through. Keep us updated if you ever come up with something.
