Is running the option with Michigan a bad thing?

I have just been kicked out of my online dynasty for"abusing the game with my QB".

I am a die-hard Michigan fan, and have been running the option all 4 years of the dynasty. It didn't seem to become a problem until now.

After 2 Big Ten Championships, 2 Coach of the Year Awards (voted on by all the other coaches in the all-Big Ten dynasty), a leading Heisman candidate (QB), and being ranked #2 in the final rankings the last 2 years.

Since year 1, I have brought in a top 5 recruiting class every year. As planned, I was getting stronger while everyone else was struggling after losing the talent that kept them alive.

I would like to open this up to the community to see if I was in the wrong, or the victim of a commissioner that admittedly said" he does not think he can beat me" after I blew him out in the Big Ten Championship the last 2 years.

Thanks.

running the option probably isn't cheesy, if you were beating teams by 20 pts in the 4th, with your starting qb running the option for points and not just killing the clock is cheesy...

Sounds like sour grapes on the part of the commish. I wouldn't say it's cheesy, but I don't know your overall style of play or any of that. I'm just basing my opinion off of what you gave in the OP.

It's ludicrous to get booted from a dynasty for running the option.

One - that's a staple of the Michigan offense.

Two - I would argue that it's harder to run the spread-option than a conventional offense in this game.

I can see how an all big ten OD would think its cheese but its not. They do run the Spread Option not which is not the tripple option. IMO if you run alot for speed options not cheese... if your running the Tripple Wing GT style option, it might be alittle cheese... Michigan Would not run this...

It really depends on how you run the option. Running the option itself isn't cheesy, but if you're constantly pitching the ball while the QB is getting hit, then I consider that cheese. You almost never see QBs pitch while going down, but this game makes it possible to do it every time.

Exactly this reply, took the words out of my mouth.

If you want put up a vid of you running the option and show us.
