Sneaker Accuracy in 2K Basketball

If there is one thing that EA gets right its the availability of sneakers and the right color blocking. Some people may not see this as an issue at all and to be honest it doesn't really take away from the game but as someone who is involved in the sneaker culture its a bit upsetting that 2K can't nail the accuracy of sneakers. For example, in a screen shot of LeBron, the LeBron VIIIs are shown but the color is wrong (see below):

When in actuality the away LeBron VIII should look like this:

Also, why is Kobe wearing the Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 instead of the Zoom Kobe V? From what I have read he doesn't have these in the game. Will they put in the game after the roster update? Again, I'm not trying to compare the two franchises but EA has 2K beat in this department. As the year progressed, different colorways were added (Hardwood Classic Lebron VIIs, etc.) to the game and newer models as well. If this is something that can't be done this year, is this something that can be added on in future versions?

As stated earlier, some people won't see this as an issue at all but for those who do, I would just like to see greater accuracy when it comes to sneakers. At least give us more than 2 options when doing color blocking.

Agreed this is especially glaring when it comes to authenticity in the Air Jordans. Also if you look at this spolier video of Heat vs Spurs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCNu1...layer_embedded you can see that the LeBron's actually look worse than the pic you posted. Very disappointing.

Definitely with you on this.

Madden 11 did a poor job with the color blocking on it's cleats this year. And 2K is doing the same with it's sneakers. I'd almost prefer that they switch to the locked shoe color ways ala NBA Live.

as long as EA is making bball games, 2k wont have the accurate colorways or vast selection of shoes.

Is there a reason for this? I'm out of the loop because my father said the same thing as well.

Re: Sneaker Accuracy in 2K Basketball

they have majority rights to put the sneakers in

2k are allowed to put in the shoes but EA has the rights for the real colorways

2K's art department has missed on several things for the last few years. With everything from courts to jerseys to shoes popping up wrong. There just isn't an emphasis being made on some of the aesthetics in this game
