Minnesota Wild - NHL 11 BEAGM

This is the third dynasty I've tried to do. I think I can stick with this one for a while. I hope you all enjoy. I will be doing a game by game update with me simulating the pre-season.

Wild set to kick off season in Finland

Mikko Koivu will be a key staple in the Wild's success this year.

-Jake Krogzi (Made-Up Name)

(AP) -- With the Wild set to start their season in Finland, they hope to get off to a better start than they did last year losing their first 6 games on the road. They are kind of like road games, but in a way, they are road games for the Hurricanes also. Head Coach Todd Richards has his lines set, and hopes to get better production this year out of the team. Here is the starting lineup for your 2010 Minnesota Wild.

Wild Eek Out Win in Opener

Cullen scored the game-winning goal in the 2nd.

-Jake Krogzi

(AP) -- The Minnesota Wild started the year off on the right foot defeating Matt Cullen's former team the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 after a 4-goal 2nd period. To start the game off, the Wild were undisciplined as they took too many penalties and were burned on the power-play of the Hurricanes. The 'Canes had a 2-0 lead going into the 2nd when Mikko Koivu struck on a shorthanded opportunity, but the 'Canes bounced back right away with Erik Cole responding on the power-play. The Wild went on to score 3 consecutive goals in the 2nd and held onto the win behind stellar goaltending from Niklas Backstrom who's looking to have a bounce-back year this year. The Wild will face the Hurricanes again tomorrow in Finland.

Great start...

the key to finishing a dynasty is not getting in over your head. Come up with something thats informative, but not too time consuming that if you were to get a little behind you feel like you have tons of work to do.

It's times like that where people generally burn out.

I think a simple recap of the game, trades, or moves will be sufficient enough for me to keep going.

I'm just trying to keep it realistic because that's what makes it interesting to read. I had a real hard time in this first game, I was super surprised that I won, but Backstrom is really good in this game.

Thanks for the feedback, and your sliders are great. I had a real tough time on the faceoff dot as you can see I lost 26/38 faceoffs, but I'm sure it will balance out over time.

Nice start. I'm loving this dynasty already, but I don't know why

Good start to the season for the Wild. Jussi Jokinen was lighting you up for a bit, but four second period goals? Nice.

Haha, I can't imagine why. Mikko is such a fun player to watch, he's really good in this game too.

Yeah Jokinen just sniped two goals top shelf on Backstrom, I was just happy that I was able to stick with it for the 4 2nd period goals. Havlat's goal really surprised me as there was a tie-up on the faceoff and Havlat just picked it up and fired it top shelf, I was surprised it went in. :P
