Is there such thing as Home Field Advantage?

Question that I have is this; Is there such thing as home field advantage? The reason I ask is because I played a game (franchise game) at Philadelphia and really struggled, I barely won. Just the other day I played a play now game vs the Saints and just destroyed their *** at Lambeau Field. Now, I know I use the Packers and they are one of the best teams on the game but I also know the Saints are one of the best teams on the game. My skill level is custom with tweaks set at 10, 30 and 50 for both user and AI. It's a completely level playing field here. To me it all comes down to user skill and execution. Wouldn't you agree? So has anyone noticed a huge home field advantage or is the game just that broke? Your replies whether they be negative or positive would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't think there is. But there should be. Something like NCAA's HFA system would be amazing.

Even with a powerhouse team, playing away is still difficult.

Ok, Thanks Exonerated. So basically it comes down to whatever team you use? Even with the tweaks being the same for user and computer, I just don't think that if I played with a team like the Rams I would have much success. Afterall, a user can only control one player at a time so it definately helps to have a great defense. I mean, the player skill sliders are all at 14, All-Madden is 15, but the tweaks as I mentioned earlier are 10 30 and 50 for user and computer. Im playing week 2 of my franchise today, Buffalo visits Lambeau so, Buffalo is pretty much terrible in every area of the game but maybe offensive line, so I guess I will know more after I play this game. Thanks again.

Re: Is there such thing as Home Field Advantage?

If there is I haven't noticed. I remember in Madden 09 there were things that went on behind the scenes to make a rivarly game tougher, but I think that's as close as Madden has ever come to having some kind of advantage.

Here is what I think. I think a game with playoff implications and rivalry games should always be a little tougher, make you work for that win because it means something and that means the teams are going to play harder to get that win.

Also, I think that home field advantage should be a real thing in the game, especially for a team that wins a lot of games at home. For example, my Seahawks franchise, I didn't lose a single home game for 3 seasons so I always fealt that when a team came to play me they should bring their A game because of this.

I certainly think there is a built-in home field advantage.I like to play at least half the games each week and can say that taking a lesser team on the road is very difficult and if you have a lead it's hard to keep.Having a stronger team at home is where I usually have the easy wins.

I'm surprised there isn't. At the very least, it shouldn't be difficult to make big changes in crowd noise depending on the situation (e.g., away team's offense on third down, and red zone). Would be great if they could also implement the squiggly/shaky route trees that you get when you try to pull up the patterns pre-snap, and also make it harder to call audibles and hot routes (i.e., the WR doesn't hear the QB announce the adjustment, and runs the predetermined route instead).

Re: Is there such thing as Home Field Advantage?

Ok, Thanks for the replies fellas. Well, here is what I have now; During the games I like to go into player skill option and see just where i sit, if i were to play on the "MY SKILL" setting I would be above a Madden Level in everything but passing and running the ball, I think the last I checked i was a 12 and 14 respectively. Well, as i said ive been playing on the "CUSTOM" skill setting and they are all at 14, now, the tweak are still the same (see first post). In my second game of the regular season I played at home vs the Buffalo Bills and just destroyed them to the tune of 73 to 7. Now, it was a home game and it did almost seem easy. I think there just may be a little bit of a home field advantage. I also take into consideration i was playing the Bills and they are in real life just terrible. What's even more interesting is I had more total offense in the 35-22 win at Philly than i did in the 73-7 win over Buffalo. The game played with a realistic feel though, i just cashed in on good field position every time. I want to change the sliders but would feel as though i would have to start a franchise all over because of the integrity of the season. I play the Bears next and it is in Chicago, it's a rivalry game so we will have to see what happens. Im not going to change anything yet. I say again, I think i am a decent Madden player with a good knowlege of the game of football and I use the Packers and afterall they are one of the top teams in the game, so, the only way i see things being a super almost impossible challenge is to go to the ALL MADDEN skill setting and that is just rediculous. Played against the Browns on the setting with the packers and got smoked 56 to 14. That's insane

Yeah, there has to be..since i'm controlling all 32 Teams, i was playing with the Saints at the Patriots and just won with 3 Seconds left on the clock (21-17).
