Simming Games in Franchise, QB issue...

Okay, I have drafted a young QB. He is an 81 overall, my backup is a 68 overall. Now, when I sim games and go back and look at the player stats, it shows him in the game for about 15 pass attempts, and my backup who is substantially worse, with even more attempts as him. This has happened a few times already, and its really pissing me off. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? Would really like my QB in there so he can progress.

Is this happening in every game or only in a few? I assumed that if it was in a few games the starter may get injured.

Yeah if you simming games, injuries are more likely to happen then if you play the game. You just got to re-adjust your depth chart and make sure your rookie is number 2 and not number 3.

When you simming games, it don't matter what the ovr rating is, cpu don't go by that, it goes by depth chart position. And by default it will always put rookies on the bottom.

Yeah, i don't know guys. I have him at #1 and look at the games injury reports and it just seems like for whatever reason they are putting in the 2nd string QB and attempting more throws with him, it happened 4 times in one season.

As in the four preseason games? If so, that is completely normal and you have nothing to worry about.

For your information select your starting QB based on Awareness, Throw Power and Throw Accuracy ratings.

Short Throw Accuracy, Medium Throw Accuracy, Deep Throw Accuracy, Throw on the Run and Play Action do not matter when simming, but still affect the overall rating.

Guaps, does Throw Accuracy matter when playing, or does it simply move to Sh/Med/Long throw?

According to the information I've seen from Ian Cummings and the rest of the EA Tiburon crew Throw Accuracy does not matter when playing.

The same goes for pass blocking and run blocking ratings, those are sim only. At the same time pass block strength/footwork and run block strength/footwork are playing only and I honestly don't know about impact blocking.

Wish EA Tiburon would make a blog about the meaning of the individual ratings and which ratings affect gameplay and which only affect simming. Just to set the record straight once and for all.

Amen to that. Your interpretation makes sense, but I'd love to hear more about this. How can we truly get the most out of the game without knowing what ratings matter when?
