Suction, Control, and Animations

I know some of you guys ignored this, but in light of our discussions this week... seems like Live 08 was further down the road than previously thought in concept?

Jumpers were generic among other issues but was it really best to get away from this?

No suction, sig moves, more noticeable graphics and control, thumb stick up to shoot ft's... it was all there

Now did you buy this game or dismiss it as something that couldnt have been worked with?

Then they have no suction either... skip to about 4:20..thats where the game starts

Never played or owned Live 08 but based on that last video it had better rim physics than 09, 10 or Elite.

Re: Suction, Control, and Animations

Okay, so what you're asking is if we didn't think Live 08 was any good then why are we hyped and defending Elite?

If that's the point your trying to get across then, I'd say you have a good point. Because besides the demo and maybe a rental I never touched Live 08.

Maybe if they stuck with it and kept improving Live 08 we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. And we would have a Live game much closer to the competition in terms of visuals and authenticity.

I got to say though, I'm still interested to see where they take Elite and 'RTP'. And boy do I wish they still had those Signature moves. Especially the Shaq hook, so we wouldn't have to worry about him shooting fade away's from the post.

LOL!

I remember when me NBA Live King from NLSC edited the hell out of that game.

There were still some issues no doubt but it was a fun game after like 2000 hours of editing........

If i'm not mistaken that was the game with best footplanting installed in it. In one of those videos that move by Manu was pretty sick. Looked outstanding which makes it hard to believe they (EA) still haven't progressed in terms of animations from 08 to Elite 11.

The fade away jumpers in that game looked really good... i didn't like the down/up motion to shoot free-throws, it should've just been up.

Wow, that looks wayy better than elite..mix that game with live 10, and you've got a great game imo..alot of signature stuff in that game.
