Issue with CPU QB

I can imagine others are having this problem as well, but am I the only one who can not sack the QB before he magically throws the ball away?

It is so frustrating, and I can't find a way to bypass this issue. Whenever a defender touches the QB, he just "drops" the ball a few yards.

Wasn't this a big issue a year or two ago? Does anyone know if it is being looked at?

Re: Issue with CPU QB

Yes this is has been brought up alot. It seems the AI has a Physic powers to know when to throw the ball away at the right time. I get some sacks. But it is very hard to sack them alot. The AI QB would wheather throw iinto triple coverage then take a sack. But hopefully Ian and his crew will fix this problem in one of the 2 patches hopefully.

The Madden team tries to stress realism but if any QB tried to throw the ball away when a d-lineman was 1/2 step away at full speed, the QB would get decapitated. But the Madden QBs just shake it off and head back to the huddle.

Re: Issue with CPU QB

This is an issue that needs to be addressed. Far too often, even at the risk of throwing an INT, the CPU will somehow get rid of the ball. And of course it is frustrating.

Re: Issue with CPU QB

I think the main problem is that the CPU quarterback holds on to the ball too long. If he didn't the throw the ball away quickly, you would be getting a dozen sacks each game. Really, the quarterback should be throwing it earlier to avoid the too many sacks/too many duck passes problem.

Re: Issue with CPU QB

It works both ways. It is hard to sack the cpu because they will get rid of the ball at the last instant (sometimes though that causes interceptions) and at the same time I rarely get sacked because I can throw the ball at the last instant as well.

It's the way it has to be, guys. I play with the Rams and am averaging 4 sacks per game. You will still get your sacks, but you won't get them every single time. If they removed this "flaw", we'd see 10 sack games.

How about just implementing better pass blocking?
