I'll take Pierce in that one. Alves couldn't do anything against Fitch and Pierce is probably the closest thing to Fitch in the division. Hell, his only loss is against Fitch and aside from GSP obviously, I'd say he's the fighter that's looked the best against Fitch.

This match is intriguing. Do you all believe Rampage is still interested? At the moment I picture Machida winning pretty convincing decision.

I like 'Page but yeah, I see it going the same way. Rampage is like BJ Penn in that both just want to get in the cage and scrap like the old days and don't like the direction the sport is going in with the 'point-fighting' where guys do just enough to win the round but don't look to really take guys out.

That's what made guys like Rampage and Liddell such huge stars is that regardless of who they were fighting, you knew they were going for the KO.

Now, I'm not saying what guys from the Greg Jackson camp or AKA or Frankie Edgar are doing is necessarily wrong; they are fighting smart fights. But, they don't make for exciting fights, and that can be disappointing.

Interesting. I thought Hughes said he was going to wait until next year to start fighting again. I would have liked to see Penn vs Gomi, but this is a fine fight for the Matt Hughes Retirement Tour.
