Help me pick a small school..

To build... I wanna take a small school n turn itno a powerhouse. Any ideas guys. Would like a good impact player to atleast have a chance to do well. A good recruiting base to help build or takeover a pipeline. Thanks guys

Re: Help me pick a small school..

I like to use FIU:
+ FL recruiting base
+ 1* team with 14-68 all-time record, no bowl game appearances
+ QBs have decent mobility
+ HBs/WRs aren't completely horrible
+ Sun Belt means the tough games are all OOC
+ plenty of playing time available for halfway decent recruits
- I'm not sure that they have any good impact players

It allows me to build the program almost from scratch and I feel comfortable using a few different offenses with them (although I do have a favorite). In 5-6 years, assuming you play well enough, you can get the program over .500 after starting out at .171 and all their bowl wins are solely to your credit.

If they played in a bigger stadium, or if there was an option to upgrade the stadium (but I digress...), they'd be perfect for me. I don't know if that's what you're looking for, though.

I'm doing my dynasty with Middle Tennessee State.

They look to be everything you're looking for. They have a decent stadium, they have southeast pipelines, and you'll have Dwight Dasher for a year.

UL-Monroe is also another 0 Bowl appearance team, I believe they have Texas as well as Louisiana as pipelines (Two strong states)

Re: Help me pick a small school..

I second Middle Tenn St--if you want an impact player to start out, Dasher is your guy. He's a senior tho.

Kent St would be interesting too if you want a pretty solid RB who can carry your team the first year. I'm thinking of eventually going with Western Kentucky. The stadium is AWESOME, plus they have sweet black alt uniforms. No really great players although. Their RB Rainey isn't bad, and if you can get by with option QB's, Jakes is pretty fast and only a sophmore. Not great accuracywise though. Rice has McGuiffee too who I'm told becomes close to a 90 his senior year.

San Diego State has Cali and strong recruiting pitches.

Army also has strong recruiting pitches like an "A" for tradition and is an Indy.
