Recently got a faster ISP, but still getting similar speeds?

My internet connection used to max out at around 10 mb/s, but I recently switched to a new ISP that ups it to around 30 mb/s. When I connect my laptop to the ethernet cable directly, I always get around 30 mb/s. However, when I go wireless I only get close to 5 mb/s

As ya'll can tell I'm obviously a newb when it comes to optimizing internet speed on a laptop. Can someone help a brother out? lol

I don't have a TON of knowledge on this, but I can tell you that, while most internet providers will charge you extra for for a faster connection, they DON'T give you the necessary router to transmit those speeds wirelessly.

Assuming you don't already have one, I'd say you need to go and purchase yourself a Wireless N router. That will allow you to connect wirelessly at the at, or very close to, the speeds you are at while connecting via an ethernet cable.
