ROH & WWE NEW

"PW Insider is reporting that Ring of Honor world champion Tyler Black has signed a developmental deal with WWE. The contract is set to begin after all of Tyler Black's ROH commitments are completed in the month of September."

So much for leading the mission and rise of ROH as he has stated many times. Took the money and ran; & all I can say is good for him. Interesting to see what ROH does now though b/c if this is true they dont have him defending the title at any shows. Also throw in Davey R retiring ROH maybe in deeper trouble then they thought they ever could be at this time. My ?s are now though...

1) Who takes the title from Tyler
2) Can he succeed in WWE

I think Davey takes the title off of Tyler for a quick transitional run, and then dros it to ...?

As for Tyler, good for him. He needs alot of work before he's going to make it in the E. I don't really see it, but then again, I didn't think Sydal would make it and he's doing damn well for himself.

Re: ROH & WWE NEW

I've been leary of Tyler in the past, mainly because of the booking that had him kick out of 50 lariats and head drops, but the bottom line is ... this kid is DAMN good. While I'm remorseful that the signing isn't at a good time for ROH as his title reign gets stronger, I'm really happy for him, and feel he's got everything he needs to be successful in WWE.

I actually think the loss of Davey Richards is a bigger one. To me, short of Prince Devitt and Naomichi Marufuji, he's a top 5 junior in the world and carrying nearly every ROH show with exceptional matches. His match with Tyler (to no surprise) at Death Before Dishonor VIII got 5* and is a match of the year frontrunner. He's the clear choice to beat Black, but if he truly leaves in December, then Roderick Strong needs to carry the company. Kenny Omega is another favorite of mine, but he's in Japan far too often to carry the strap.

An alternative ... Chris Hero or another Aries reign. Hero is really clicking on all cylinders with his strong style persona, and Aries is a bonafied star as a heel. But in my opinion, Hero is going too good as a tag champ (especially with Haas and Benjamin coming in). And Aries is best as a segway champion, getting heat antagonizing the next baby faced successor. Without Black, you really don't have another elite baby face. And if September is truly Black's departure date, ROH has to work fast.

ROH has been getting better on HDNet, and Tyler's a big reason for that, alongside Eddie Edward's 10 min gimmick. If I'm Adam Pearce, I think long and hard about putting Haas and Benjamin over to attract attention to the tag team division as you build up a world title scenario that doesn't feel reactive. To me, that's Davey over Tyler (he's earned it, afterall, anyway), and maybe a tournament to kick off 2011 by allowing Richards to retire with the strap after Final Battle. Then, you put over new stars and let Hero and Strong rise to the top. It's been done ... see Bryan Danielson's departure from PWG, but not in ROH. And it got Kenny Omega over as the new leader of the pack before Davey Richards won the belt a few months later.

Just some long winded ideas, take it or leave it.

I hope his push is better than his new name.
