What does awareness affect?

From the EA LTP1 post:
"• The Awareness of a player does NOT affect his ability to Run Routes, Play Defense, or Block. Each of those have their own ratings that drive how good the player is:"

If awareness doesn't affect the player in the above regard, then what does awareness actually affect?

ingame.. maybe passing? but that´s a guessing.

Russ Kiniry said it effects nothing outside of who the QB throws to.

So, basically, awareness doesn't matter for any other position (who woulda thunk it).

and the only thing it matters for, it allows QBs to automatically know who is open on every down - aka, robo QB.

this was the case on older gen i guess.
Now, with all those extra ratings, this rating is only for QB.

I don't think you guys understood what he was saying....

It still effects a players awareness on the field such as jumping off sides or commiting penalties in general.

It effects a players ability to focus on the field. For example a kicker with 88 accuarcy and 80 awareness is going to make more kicks than a kicker a kicker with 88 accuarcy and 40 awareness

A lower awaress player isn't going to make plays consistenlty as a high awareness player. Yes the ratings for a specific skill like catching or takling releates to that rating itself but awareness still puts a player into position to make the best position to make the tackle.

Other wise you'll just have 11 guys on defense standing around and not knowing where the ball carrier is at after the snap.

They won't make a tackle unless the guy runs directly to them with the ball.
