For all of those who are undecided what will it take to make you buy 2K11?

I know there are many of you who are drunk on the 2Kool-Aid and that's just fine. Go out get the game on release day and I hope you enjoy it.

There are others like me, however, who are pretty disappointed in the series and probably wont decide on whether or not to buy it until the hear feedback from people who actually have the game. My question to these people is what will persuade you to buy 2K11?

#1 For me is online connectivity: Unless I hear people raving over how well the game plays online this year I wont even give it a second thought. 2K9's online stability was horrendous, and 2K10's is worse. The only reason I bought 2K10 is that I was so sure it was a one year slip up and that it wouldn't happen again. I wont make that mistake a second time.

#2 Guys getting back on defense: This is one of the primary reasons paint scoring is so high, and what's crazy is that the Draft Combine had it right. The game still makes guys drag their feet when hustling back on defense so after missed shots, and even made shots, it's easier than it should be to turbo up court and get a score. Even when the computer players are on the defensive side of the floor it still takes them a few seconds to 'wake up'. Honestly if they just do this right then lead passing wont be as much of a problem. Lead passing in a half court set is not nearly as affective as lead passing past defenders who have their thumbs up their asses.

#3 Unstoppable paint/iso moves: In 2K9 a spin was a free ticket to the paint and in 2K10 it's the hop step. Both games have the hesitation and the spin move though they aren't nearly as effective this year.


There's a lot of other stuff that irks me (without even playing the game I could probably list 50), but these are the things I'm just tired of dealing with year after year, and will keep me from buying 2K11.

Controls and My Player. If people say the controls are at least as good as 2K8, great. 2K10 was not acceptable for me.

My Player needs to have the options to make the game fun for single player play. Seems like in 2K10 they put in restrictions so that your player wouldn't be better than my player, stuff like limited minutes and no sliders and all. That's not acceptable to me. For me, My Player will be my association and I need complete control over how that will be played out.

Too much focus for online play is killing the series for me.

I really don't care about online play.

What I care about is franchise mode, different game modes, gameplay and presentation.


Presentation goes to 2K based on comparing videos from Live 10 and 2K10. Don't know about any other, can someone help me out with that?

As of now, I dont know which game for sure I'm getting but It's like 60-40 in favor of 2K right now. I might just wait a few days since the game comes out on a tuesday and I might get it on the friday.

1. Player control - This one is self-explanatory. If I gently tap the left stick I want to see a subtle movement in that direction. I don't want to see my player hop around dribbling in some stupid animation that can't be interrupted.

2. CPU AI - While playing against the CPU I'd like the A.I. to play realistically. I want it to be dynamic. I'd don't want to see the CPU constantly abuse the lead pass because my AI teammates can't stay with their man.

3. More contact overall - In real life, within 15 feet of the basket, all defenders always keep a hand on their man. I'd like to see this replicated in 2K11. It would cut down on defenders slider past their man as they leave them open under the hoop.

4. Realistic help defence - I don't want to be left on, as Shane Battier calls it, "Kobe Island" if I'm playing on-ball. If I have my help defence slider up I want to see some help defence. Common sense, right?

The My Player mode has to be solid online/offline. As long as there aren't 7'5 PGs running around with 99 everything, I should be on board.

If there are tons of exploits and My Crew isn't enjoyable, I won't keep 2K11 for long.
