Help with Online Features explanation???

I apologize if this has been asked already.. but I couldnt find it.. I just rented the game and I usually buy them.. I will buy it shortly. But this year it is asking me for a online gameplay code.. I only have 3 days left. Also I started a dynasty (thanks Buckeye for rosters again.. great job) and every game I play it says it cant record my stats due to me not having this feature. It looks like I have to enter in a code from the manual.. but I dont have that. Do I have to purchase something? If so how? and what do I get? Where is it suppose to save the stats.. and what happens in 3 days when my "trial period" is over? I am confused on this.. I am a huge fan of offline dynasty.. and might try online this year.. I have a PS3.. and I dont get it? Any help would be appreciated.

I guess your talking about the EA Online Pass thing. if you buy the game new, it comes on the manual and you just enter it in. it allows you to use teambuilder and play online game(normal online and online dynasties).

for renting, you can use the trial thing they have for it(if your not already). it last for 7 days I think.

Oh.. yeah I know all that.. I got that.. I am just wondering what the online pass does exactly? Do I need it? If so for what? Why in my offline dynasty does it say "stats cant be saved' .. after every game.. I thought it was just a online thing? Can I play an offline dynasty without it and it be the same? What are the advantages?

it's probably just the season showdown thing(which is down anyway right now). I wouldn't worry about it.

the online pass just allows you to play online games(online dynasties and normal online games) and to use teambuilder. I think that is it really.
