Help me figure this out

So I am playing my dynasty with SDSU against Air Force. The AF QB throws one deep to the endzone and I pick it off with my safety, who then in turn gets tackled into the endzone.

The computer then says its a safety, gives AF 2 points and makes me punt it back. My main concern is that if it really is a safety or did the computer have a huge lapse in judgement?

If a fumble, interception, punt, or missed field goal is fielded by a defender in the end zone and the defender does not leave the end zone, it is a touchback.

I'd report this bug in the glitches/bug thread just to make sure it's included there. As said before, it should be a touchback, not a safety.

If he's tackled in the endzone without leaving it, it should be a touchback. If he leaves but is tackled backward into it, it should be forward progress to the 1 yard line or wherever the ball was when the tackle was initiated. It should only be a safety if he leaves the endzone and then re-enters it of his own accord and is tackled there, or possibly if he leaves, is driven back but stays on his feet, then runs around a little bit before getting tackled (even then they would often give him progress to the 1).
