RTG heisman problem?

I'm a big RTG player and I justfinished my freshman season as a Texas Longhorn QB. I had 4500 passing yards with 53 passing touchdowns and a 74% completion percentage (yes i audibled out of most of the running plays). I also had about 250 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. I finished second in the heisman race to QB #7 from Houston (Case Keenum) who had 4300 passing yards, 44 touchdowns, ans a 70% completion percentage. Also my QB rating was 227.7 and his was 175.5. I also won pretty much every other award that i could and he only got the heisman. Did they do something where you cant win the heisman as a freshman? Because if someone in real life did all that it wouldnt matter what age they were. Just curious about this and thanks for any answers that i get.

Re: RTG heisman problem?

Hmm. How did your team finish? A lot of times in real life you'll see someone put up better numbers, but if their team didn't win a NC or BCS bowl they wouldn't get the Heisman. Colt Brennan comes to mind as he put up some insane numbers and won a ton of awards but never a Heisman.

My team was 12-1 and we went to the fiesta bowl and won it against Pittsburg so we did pretty good but Houston was undefeated and went to the sugar bowl against Boise St. but they lost.

Maybe the voters thought Keenum did better because he didn't have as much to work with as you did, but put up nearly identical numbers to you. That's my take on the situation anyway.

The BCS Bowl game/NC has nothing to do with it because the Heisman is handed out in December. I won it as a freshman QB as well.
