Anyway to stop the fumbles?

I swear my guys fumble like 4 times a game. I don't really bother to push the protect ball button, does it really help? I wish there was a slider for fumbles like in Madden 10.

yes, the protect ball help. also covering the ball and shielding the ball away from the defender using the right stick seems to help as well.

yes rb or r1 if you are on ps3 is pretty much it. also as the other guy said holding the right stick up works well too especially with bigger backs. also dont set your gameplan to aggressive for running backs.

Setting my gameplan to conservative running has been a godsend. Only lost 4 fumbles thru 11 games so far.

All of these things. Another thing that makes a difference, although less than any of the three above mentioned strategies, is making sure the ballcarrier isn't tired.

I'm playing as Syracuse in an Online Dynasty on All-American with sliders to make it significantly more difficult than normal All-American. I'm at about 70-75% run. I've had 1 fumble through the first 5 games of my season.

Changing your running game to conservative makes a huge difference.

I think it does cause there are certain tackle animations that transition into different tackle animations.
