Go Blue: Taking Michigan Back to Glory (NCAA Football 11)

The Michigan Wolverines football program represents the University of Michigan in college football. Michigan has the most all-time wins and the highest winning percentage of all-time. The team is also known for it's distinctive winged helmet, fight song, record-breaking attendance figures, and it's many rivalries, particularly it's annual season-ending game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Michigan began competing in intercollegiate football in 1879. The Wolverines are members of the Big Ten Conference and have won or shared 42 league titles, more than any other football program in any conference. Since the inception of the AP Poll in 1936, Michigan has finished in the top 10 a record 37 times.

In 2008, then Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr retired, and Rich Rodriguez took is place. Bringing in a spread-style offense, Rodriguez had trouble, seeing as the players there weren't recruited for a spread-style offense. His first year, he ended up with a 3-9 record. A record no very acceptable for the Michigan Wolverines. It was Michigan's first losing season since 1967. This was also the first year that Michigan didn't become bowl-eligible since 1975.

In 2009, Rich brought in a couple of quarterbacks that suited his offense style, and began the year 4-0. It looked like Rodriguez would definitely lead Michigan to a bowl game in 2009, but at the end of the year, they ran into trouble, and ended their season with a 5-7 record.

To add more insult to injury, the Ohio State Buckeyes have defeated the Michigan Wolverines six-straight times, which is the longest streak the Buckeyes have ever had on the Wolverines.

But this year, Rich Rodriguez is planning on shocking the world of college football. This year, he plans on bringing his spread-style offense, and proving that he is here to stay, and that the Michigan Wolverines are still, and always will be, one of the most dominant college football teams of all time!
