Make your own team and build through the draft. That's the best way, since you can scout players that fit the style you want to play with.

Says the guy with the Phoenix Suns avatar....

Maybe you want to use the Bulls, with Derrick Rose and Boozer.

Why do you wait and see if Earl Clark can play before you jump off the Suns.

Re: Which is an good team to play in Association mode?

I use the Magic because they are my favorite team IRL, but they are really good in the game too for playing Association.

Rashard Lewis at the 4 is amazing, just get him open with pick and pops behind the 3 point arc all night long. If my shot is dropping, I can drop 40 easy with Lewis.

Dwight Howard is a beast in the middle. Up and unders are usually pretty effective with him.

Jameer IRL isn't the greatest passer in the league (a big portion for that is just because he's shoot first), but I have no problem racking up double digit assists with him. He's also a good enough shooter that he can raise up from nowhere if you give him an inch. Most of my points with Jameer come when I bring the ball up court with him, and the defender backs off so I can just raise up with Jameer and drop it.

Vince is a great driver. He seems to be able to dunk through about 4 defenders plus the entire bench, lol.

The bench has a bunch of good 3 point shooters like Pietrus and Redick. With Dwight Howard swatting shots left and right, it sets up a lot of fast breaks with any combo of Redick, Pietrus, Carter, Barnes, or Lewis running the wings. Hit them up court on the break and they are looking at wide open treys most the time.

Yeah, I'm a big advocate of the custom team, especially when it's played similar to an expansion team. As fhhs63 noted earlier, creating a team is fun as you can choose to try to acquire stars or pick the arguably more satisfying option of building through the draft. If you create a team, you don't have to heavily disrupt the NBA rosters either, so you can play in a realistic league even if you don't have a favorite team.

If you want to build your team with draft picks and such pick the Nets. They got Devin Harris and Brook Lopez plus the 3rd pick in the draft Derrick Favors who's supposed to be good.

or

If you dont want to worry about building your team, pick one of the elite teams, heat, lakers, celtics, etc

I always used the knicks in association mode for 2k10 not because theyre my favorite team but after you finish the season, free agency baby.
