NCAA Newbie Gonna Buy

I only started watching the NFL in the 2007 season (what a season to start watching!) The first game I watched was the overtime thriller between Dallas and Buffalo on MNF and ever since then I eat sleep and breathe football. NFL Network is on my TV 90% of the time, and I played each Madden since 08 the entire year til the new one came out.

I was never attracted to college football until the last few months of the 09 season. The first game I watched was a Notre Dame overtime game, might have been the one where Charlie Weis had his last game, not sure, but I loved the whole atmosphere of it. And it was a good game to get me started with it.

But to cut to the chase, this will be my first time buying or even playing an NCAA football game. I heard reviews that the dynasty mode isn't gonna be attractive to people because it hasn't changed much, but thankfully for me every aspect of this game will be new.

I played the demo and loved it as much as I do with demos, but I tried not to overplay it so I won't get too sick of it. But it's pre-ordered and gonna be in my hands come Tuesday.

Sorry if this is unwanted and just ramblin' lol but I just needed to get off my chest that I'm excited as hell to get this game and dive head first into renaming the rosters myself since I have no clue how to transfer them from a flashdrive, etc. (or is there another way?) and then getting into a deep dynasty mode I heard was very ****ing good.

A side note, I have NO 'team'. I want a few suggestions as to what team to not only pick for a dynasty, but to love every saturday IRL.

I had a few I was leaning towards:
- Notre Dame (Ever since that game i kinda liked them, plus I love their uniforms. And the douche bag Clausen is gone )
- SMU (LOVE their jerseys. And glad to say Emmanuel Sanders is on my Steelers now!)

Thats all I got, and again, sorry for the probably unwanted story, but i can't wait for this game.

Start loving Oregon every Saturday! Dennis Dixon, who plays for your Steelers is an alum. We're a crazy fan base that loves their team. Awesome gameday experience, and a good program.

Get yourself an SEC powerhouse: A Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, or maybe even Georgia. We play real football down here

Well, that "real football" got you a 1-3 record vs. the Pac-10 in the past 4 seasons...

IF you have Xbox Live you can just get them online through the actual game. Someone will edit the roster then upload it, then you can just download it for yourself.

The teams I like are Michigan and Boston College, both are kinda struggling right now, but they are pretty damn good programs.

Depends on where you're from. There's only a few teams that have all their games on television. Plus if you're like me you'd want to know what's going on with that teams whole conference so you'd want a semi local team.

You're making a good choice! NCAA is going to be very solid this year. Not perfect, but very good. I am the opposite as you though, as I am getting away from Madden and re-investing myself into NCAA. It's a game that I have always loved, even though it has been lacking on this gen. I just don't think you can beat the polls, the awards, the bowl games, the recruiting, the rivalries, etc... There's just something about the college game and this game that can immerse me like no other game can.

I'd run with SMU. They have a fun offense to run and they are a program that needs help to get back to the top. There is definitely something fun and rewarding when you can build a program back up. Notre Dame is already kind of there, so I would think that the shine would wear off pretty quick, but I could be wrong.

Rosters are easy to get as long as you have XBox Live. Naming them yourself would be a chore and fortunately for us, we have some great roster makers here.

I am glad you're excited... EA is bringing old fans back and new ones to the party with this year's game, but there's still a lot of work to do!
